Speech Contests

  1. Prepared Speech: "Horses as Teachers: Life Lessons from the Barn"
    Deliver a well-researched and heartfelt speech exploring how horses teach us valuable life skills such as patience, responsibility, and resilience.

  2. Impromptu Speech
    Put your quick thinking to the test! Draw two topics from a hat, select one, and craft a speech in just 15 minutes. Share your insights and creativity on the spot!

Art Contest

Showcase your creativity with original artwork celebrating the beauty and spirit of horses. All submissions must be handmade and created by the participant.

Photo Contest

Capture the magic of the equine world through your camera lens. Submit your best photo taken by you that highlights the connection between horses and their environment.

All participants will receive a free youth membership to TQHYA (doesn't include a competition card) and winners wil receive cash prizes in 13 & Under and 14-18 divisions.  


Points

TQHA points are earned by members who turn in a completed Membership Application and Competition Card and follow the Association show rules.

Scholarships

AQHA

Applicants must download the current scholarship guidelines for a complete list of criteria and requirements. To be considered for a Foundation scholarship, you must complete and return a current scholarship application. In addition, several support materials are requested for submission. The process for applying for the AQHA scholarships is changing. Please apply online at their site: Apply - AQHA and when completed, forward the downloaded application to Anne Brzezicki at abrzezic@bellsouth.net with TQHA SCHOLARSHIP in the subject line. If you don’t get a receipt acknowledgement within two days, call Anne at 615-948-0390.

TQHA

Youth that are actively involved in TQHYA should submit an AQHA scholarship application, available on the AQHA website, and then submit a copy of the form to Anne Brzezicki at abrzezic@bellsouth.net

The following are guidelines for the TQHA scholarship:

  • Priority is given to seniors in high school who are entering college the following Fall.

  • The scholarship is good for any two or four year accredited college, university or trade school.

  • The scholarship will be sent to the Director of Finance of the school to be attended.
